Grit: One-side 1000 | Second side 3000
The Naniwa Super Stone is famous for its ability to create an unbeatable polished edge on steel. Order from our store in Pike Place Market, in-person or online.
The Naniwa Super Combination Water Sharpening Stone features double the utility of a traditional stone. A 1000 grit surface is an excellent followup to a 220 or 400 grit stone. It can also work well as a starting stone for edges that aren’t too dull.
The 3000 grit surface is considered as extra fine. It’s a great final stone for a slightly toothy edge on knives, or a perfect progression between 1000 and 8000 grit stones.
The unique resin bond of the Naniwa Super Stone allows it to be “splash-and-go”. This means that you don’t have to soak the stone before use. Just splash some water on top and you’re good to start sharpening.
The Naniwa Super Stone requires less flattening. It’s more hard-wearing than other stones and won’t dish or cup without some serious use. As an added plus, it doesn’t require flattening as often.
It has a higher concentration of abrasive particles than lower quality sharpening stones. This contributes to the speedy sharpening.
