I have been a big fan of the Mini Champ for quite a few years. For retail availability, it’s quite rare, so when in Seattle and in the area, I make it a point to go by Seattle Cutlery where it’s been reliably available and stock up - for the rare but inevitable times I lose one. Plus - Peter is just wonderful. I was pleased to see the Mini Champ available in the ALOX configuration; intrigued, I got one. Overall, I love it. Within the blade compartments, it has everything the regular one has, but it’s thinner and, subjectively at least, it appears to be more robustly built. The trade off for the thinner profile - you lose the ballpoint pen and the tweezer/toothpick pocket. I’m OK with losing the toothpick, but sometimes having a ballpoint pen has saved my bacon (an example of what I originally thought was just gimmicky product bloat - turned out to be surprisingly useful!). Overall, the Mini Champ ALOX is great, and currently, it’s my daily carry tool - the Mini Champ is like having a multi-tool - with a bunch of serious tool options - in a tiny package.
